“Bro Jake” held some of the highest rated rankings in Canadian Radio and has been recognized with multiple awards. Edwards was honored as the National Broadcast Personality of the Year in 1985, 2000, and 2001, he was named BCAB’s Broadcaster of the Year, and was inducted into the Actra Awards, underscoring his excellence and contributions to Canadian broadcasting.
Perhaps one of his most iconic contributions is as the voice of the syndicated character “The Champ”, a role that has cemented his status in broadcasting history.
